we have 6 kids and 13 grandchildren, which I am hoping to get the grandkids involved.

I hope the coop you ordered has at least 24 sq ft. The attached run will need to be a MINIMUM of 60 sq ft but 100 would be much better.

That coop is much too small for 6 chickens. You're better off building your own coop, as it will be much sturdier, cheaper, and you can make it as big as you want.
