Hi there! New member here-- though I've been browsing the boards for quite a while. After being out of the backyard chicken business for a few years, we went to VT to visit my father in law last summer, and he sent us home with two Salmon Faverolle bantam hens.. they're the sweetest hens ever. We looked for quite a while, trying to find more, and weren't having any luck.. but we finally found a Salmon Fav hen and a roo (not bantam) last fall.. had a little bit of trouble with introductions but they've worked it all out now. Our roo has really grown and is absolutely beautiful- and very friendly. Completely opposite of past roosters that we've had years ago, that were Old English Bantams..some were very aggressive and a little kookie- so I really love this Fav roo! They're certainly nice and hearty and doing well in our cold and snowy NY winter!
I'm looking forward to finding more info out about the breed and checking out more of the boards.
