Hello Everyone,
I finally decided to join after many a months of visiting this site for valuable info. I haven't been a chicken caretaker for that long, just at the 5 month mark this month. Back in the spring on a whim, we decided to raise some chicks for future eggs. Started out with a small idea and a 3 chicken coop which turned into a bigger coop (and more chickens) and finally blossomed into a huge coop so they would have plenty of room. Well after many a months of free ranging during the day and cooping at night, we got our first egg! *oh goodie!!* So we did what any other normal person would do, bought more chicks in different breeds lol! After all that, its turned into buying an incubator to hatch our own. Probably not that crazy of a story but I get a good chuckle out of it =).
I currently reside in Northern California, situated on a half acre and I am already planning out how to move to a place with more acreage (need more chickens =).
Well, love the website, great info and keep up the great postings =)
