Hey all! I started my chicken flock back in 2020 (July 16 actual date) with 6 babies from tractor supply, 2 leghorns, 2 Rhode Island reds, and 2 barred rock (all female) I still have 3 of my original girls! Mainly because of egg shortages from Covid. I now currently sell eggs as my occupation. (Started Oct 2023) I have been expanding since I started lol. I am up to approximately 200 birds. I have a lot of different breeds, 3 listed above plus (buff and had lavender but my last girl passed about a month ago) Orpingtons, Delaware, Dominique, blue Andalusians, red sex links, Easter eggers, 1 salmon favorelle, blue laced wyandottes, amerucauna (pure bred), silkies, appenzeller spitzhauben, black copper marans, light Brahmas, the list goes on. (Lol) obviously most of you know how hard it is sometimes to find help, so I’m self taught on how to treat my birds when something is wrong as most of us chicken tenders! I live in Acton, CA (so cal) nice to meet you all! I attached a couple pics of my now under construction coop area where I keep my layers. We just built this about a year ago, I currently have dog runs set in aside this coop with my different age groups and we have added another “house” 20’x 8’ truck box (one pictured is 16’x8’ not including run part) just teal house for my current expansion. One interesting point about me is I have kept almost all my roosters. I am probably at about 30 boys if you count my newbies (youngest 5 weeks, another group of 10-12 week olds, and last group I just transferred to my coop 17 week olds)!
