New member, but I need advice about hen setting on non-hatching eggs.

That might mean that some of the eggs are such different ages that they might not all hatch. The hen will have a good idea how long to sit. But you can look at the remainders and candle them, then decide if you want to try incubating them. What a pretty hen you have! Welcome to BYC!
Well, I have an update. We now have three baby chicks! One was hatched each day over the last three days. Each one a different color. Yesterday mom hen kicked out two bad eggs, so I threw them in the ravine, and then checked them, and, sure enough, they were no good. So, mom knows best! She still has seven eggs under her, so I am hoping that we will still get some more hatching today and tomorrow. I have been putting starter/grower feed in the nesting box so the babies can get to it, and mom hen is eating it as well, as she has not been leaving the nest at all since the first one hatched. I also have provided the chick waterer, so both the babies and mom can get fresh water.
