Hello everyone! I just joined BYC and I’m going to be introducing myself through their template below:
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I’m very new to chickens. I just got my first chicken about 4-5 weeks ago!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have three chickens, as well as 4 ducks and 4 quail.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Ameraucana, Australorp, Delaware
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love waking up early and letting my girls out to forage in their yard. I’ll spend an hour out there watching them look for food and interact.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
In addition to the other birds I care for, I also enjoy walking and nature. Video games. And I’m learning to get into cooking.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I’m currently living away from family in a different part of the country. I live with roommates, one of which owns two rabbits. I teach ballroom dance currently but I’m looking to find a new career path soon.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Google searches for various questions I had. I finally decided why not join it!?
I’m excited to be a part of this new community. I’m friendly, fun, respectful, and curious so I’ll certainly be reading for more and more ways to improve the life of my girls.
