New member! Dreaming of chickens :)

Hello! I am extremely excited to have been referred to this website by a friend! I will be getting my own chicks in the spring and keeping them at their house so I can start my adventure and dream of becoming a backyard farmer. I have always had this idea on the back burner and it wasn't until recently when I read the book "Barnheart" that I realized this dream could come true. So here I am, working a dreadful office job, saving every penny I can to eventually one day live off the land. I'm taking it slow, although I have many ideas, wishes and thoughts racing through my head. I can't wait to begin and read about all of your experiences!
