Thank you! Those people were just too heartless for throwing them, they were still alive!

Thank you! I do hope everything goes well too. They grow so fast. They've been with us for about a month now and they are bigger that my fist now. I remember they used to be small in a week's age.

Although I can't id the breed for you, they are looking well & healthy...thank you for taking them in. Drumstick diva is right, they're quickly outgrowing the cage and need a larger home.

Good luck to you and the foundlings, hope you're enjoying them!

@NFC We had to take them in, poor chicks, we found them feeling cold and hungry. They used to be in a long box, we decided to get them a big cage few days ago and they seem to be outgrowing the cage too fast. How long will it take for them to be adults? Maybe in a week or two?

Chicks grow quickly...they won't be fully matured and laying eggs for some time but they will need more space before then. As far as coops go, the rule of thumb for bantams is about 2 sq. feet per bird and for dual-purpose birds it's about 4 sq. feet per bird. When chickens get too crowded they get irrate and will start pecking each other so to avoid that, they need space to spread out (and don't forget, their feeder and waterer takes up space too). Take a look at brooders and coops other members have posted for more ideas and information.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends

@NFC Were planning to build a bigger and wider brooder for the chicks. I'll make sure to remember those measurement. Thank you again! :)
