Hi everyone! Just joined today but I've been reading the forum for quite some time. I've known I wanted to raise my own chickens for about 2 years now, I just had to convince my DH that it was a good idea. And for Christmas he finally said yes! I'm so excited. I've done the research and today went and bought a partially built coop (see avatar). We're going to add a run, ladder and new nesting boxes to it over the next week. I really want to get baby chicks and hand raise them till they are ready for the coop, they'll be kept in a very nice, warm, cushie box in my garage.

I look forward to getting to know you guys and sharing my adventure with everyone.
