Hello all, I have just joined this site in the hope of getting advice and useful info on keeping my little flock of backyard chickens. I live in rural Victoria and with the gelp of my 7 year old grandson we have just gotten our first birds, 1 rooster and four hens. Looking forward to all this brings. Regards Pauline

Welcome to BYC!
I'm glad you could join our "flock".

We love talking about poultry, so feel free to ask any questions you may have or just to chat about your birds.

Best of luck with your chickens!

Welcome to Backyard chickens. We have a large aussie population here and a thread "Australia, six states and one funny little Island." You must be entering winter now, while we have summer heat & high humidity (ugh). What breeds do you have?

Sounds nice..I wish, I wish, I could have a rooster. You will enjoy having chickens, and sharing your experience here on BYC.

G'day, and welcome to BYC, Pauline. Glad you decided to join our flock. Raising chooks is a wonderful experience for children. My children and my 7 year old granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) loved our chooks and made lap pets of the calmer and more gentle breeds. Please feel free to ask any specific questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Hi Pauline, welcome to BYC!

You and your grandson will have some real memories to share from your chicken adventure. Nice you and he can do this together.

Glad you are here and if you have any questions, feel free to ask. There is a ton of information available here and many friendly, helpful members.
