I’m still doing my research. I know I need to look for cold weather breeds and would also prefer great egg layers. Do you have recommendations for cold weather areas?

Australorps! Gorgeous, great egg layers, friendly, and super easy going.
Thank you! I won’t be allowed to have a rooster, so that’s not an issue. Two of those breeds are in my list: Orpington and Wyandotte. I appreciate the help!I know a few good breeds for cold weather!
1. Columbian Rock Cross, they aren't the friendliest and can go broody, but they are the toughest chickens I have ever seen!
2. Rhode Island Reds, fairly friendly, lay good eggs, BUT the roosters are MEAN!
3. Wyandottes, they are probably the best for cold weather, because they are also very sweet and lay good eggs. ALTHOUGH they are small and could be attacked easier.
4. Orpingtons, they are very sweet, not the BEST for cold weather but they're ok.
Out of those I most recommend the Wyandotte.
