New member from CT

Hello everyone! I'm new to this whole thing, any advise or comments would be appreciated. I do not have any chickens yet but am looking for information on the proper way to care, house chickens, I've decided to get them for eggs but looking for suggestions on the type of bird to get. I live in CT so it gets cold here in the winter. I'm planning to get 6 chickens to start.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome, I am excited to bring home some new family members. I just brought home my brooder supplies today.

I have it all set up already...lol I plan on taking a trip to pick up some new chicks this weekend. I haven't decided what type I want to get yet.
