Hello, my name is Skyla and I’m a 23 year old chicken tender (pun intended). I’ve been keeping chickens with my boyfriend for the last 3.5 years and I have grown to learn so much about the Phasianidae family!
I have been able to hatch chicks, nurture sick hens, and even conduct surgery on a few hens who are happily pecking along today! As of now we have 44 chickens, at our largest we had a flock of 50. This includes 3 Japanese Bantams, 2 Old English Red Pyle Bantam, 2 Salmon Faverolle, 4 Americaunas, 1 RIR, 2 buff laced Polish, 4 Sexlinks/Amberlinks, some backyard breeds, and lots and lots of Leghorns! Even the neighbor’s roosters have come to hang out with my flock on the daily! Of our current 44 chickens we have 14 roosters, all of which are friendly and have grown a bond with each other so that they are able to care for their hens together. I’m glad to be a part of this community so that I can continue to learn and hopefully share some of my own experiences and advice in the future!
Happy Clucking!

Welcome Skyla, so glad you joined us at Backyard Chickens. You are doing a marvelous job of having 14 roosters- all of which are friendly and get along together. I'm sure other folks will be asking how you pulled that off.
