Hi fellow chicken people
smile.png
I recently hatched two chicks in a 3 egg incubator, one of the chicks has a hernia from its umbilicus where the egg sack was not absorbed properly. It is now day 4 and the chicks are both looking stronger and both eating and drinking. The ''hernia" looks dry and seems to be shrinking as it dries and hardens. Does anyone have experience with this please? I actually thought it may have died by now but it seems OK other than the lump. Thanks Jane

Thank you all for your warm welcome and advice. This is a great forum to join. The chick with the hernia seems stronger each day and is now competing for food with its mate, gotta be a good sign. Here's hoping it is a survivor! Cheers Jane
