Thank you for the welcome, I had to laugh at theYou are clearly a "chicken person" because many folks would not care to or be able to know who was who in a flock of Barred Rocks because, they would say, "They all look alike." But, you are learning to tell them apart by their individual personalities and differences. Hurray for you!
It's adorable that Roo Roo waits to be picked up; congrats on him finding his voice. Some day, that little cock-a-doodle-doo will ring out loud and clear.
Welcome to BYC, where I hope you continue finding answers to all of your questions. It's good to meet you!
When I was around 9 or 10 yrs. old we had a flock of free range chickens. My Mom said the smallest one who happened to be a black bantam would be mine. We named her Chicken Little. Well, she hated me and I grew to not like her either! Our house was in a pasture with a fence around it and every time I walked outside even if I stayed on the covered porch that chicken would see me and run through the pasture and fly over the fence and flog me! If I went to feed the chickens, to the mail box, to feed the hog, etc., she would come after me! If I went outside at all she would come after me. She never offered to flog anyone else. She would even leave her babies and come after me! Mom thought it was funny and kept her because she went broody a lot. We always knew when she was sitting on a clutch of eggs because that was the only time she left me alone. You are clearly a "chicken person"
