Hi everyone,
Steve here from Lancashire, England.
I just got 4 Red Shaver hens 20weeks but not started laying yet.
Can't wait for the first ones. What age do they start laying?
Also looking forward to making new friends on here and learning from you experienced Hen heads:)

Mine started laying around 7 months old....But I think they waited longer than most chickens

If you just got your hens, if they were previously laying, you may have to wait a week for them to start laying again. Either way, you should see eggs very soon.

Hi everyone and thanks for your replies.
Good news, the hens started laying 3days ago:ya
They're only small ones but it's a start.
I got 2 first day, 3 second day and 4 today.
I don't know if they all lay one each every day?
Just wanted to ask if the size of the eggs increases as the hens get a bit older?
