When I was in the service , over 30 years ago, I visited your country , that was before the boom. I found the people to be amongst the friendliest in the world. The only negative thing was I could not keep up with them in darts, the scoring that is, they could add up the number at amazing speed!

Ok maybe I could blame the Guinness, nope it was just me.

na fáilte,

Boy I hope thats right and I just didnt insult you

Thanks for the great welcome every body. Hey Pipermark nice to hear you enjoyed the social side of Ireland, maybe you drank some of that "Tourist Guinness", brewed extra strong to help the locals win at darts! Nah, just kidding! Glad you liked the country althought the boom is well and truly over now, that's why everyone's going back to keeping their own chickens. They're enjoying a real resurgance over here. The guy at the feed-store I 've been buying my pellets etc. from for over 8 years told me last week that they are now selling in a week what used to take 3 weeks to sell!
By the way "na failte" means "the welcomes" so you were close enough. Thanks. Ta failte romhat means you are welcome.
Slan go foill, (bye for now)

I hope to visit there one day. I am half Irish and my mother still makes traditional foods sometimes. I will have to study up on where my great grandparents came from
