Hi to all!

I grew up on a farm, and had chickens running everywhere. Moved to the city after college, and now I am living back in the country. I have been researching Salmon Faverolles, both Large and Bantam, and have decided that I want to start a flock of these beautiful birds for myself. I am having a hard time finding a quality source for these birds, as I do not want to purchase hatchery chicks. The breeders that I have found do not seem to ship chicks. I have a VERY small incubator (7 eggs) and am reluctant to purchase hatching eggs due to the shipping process. With such a small capacity incubator I could not stand to lose any fertile eggs. With all of that said, I am still searching, and I am here to meet others that keep the Faverolles. I like everything I read about them.

I am also slowly making my way into sustainable living, I have several raised beds, I collect large amounts of rainwater from my house and barn roof, and compost. In addition, I have a greenhouse full of orchids, and I am professionally employed as a Geologist.

Looking forward to learning as I become a chicken farmer....again.
