Leesville @ THE HEN HOUSE
I built a coop 3 years ago for a friend. They do not use it anymore so I took it back. I am adding a run to it tomorrow and will pick up my first hens. The hens are Barred Rock. Two are 4 months old and two are 2 years old. I have used this forum and some magazines to conduct all of my research. I am very excited to pick up my hens tomorrow. Looks like I will be taking back the chicken wire and get the stronger stuff after reading some of the articles here on protection.

Thankyou for all of the great info. I will post op some pictures of my coop tomorrow in the coop build section.

I just love BRs. Mine have just been the most curious and sweet hens. That's a good age combo. You will immediately start getting eggs and about the time the older girls molt, the little girls will be laying consistently.

Congrats on your new flock! I have some Barred Rock babies in the brooder right now. They are a very nice breed to keep.
