Hello all.
From the title you know I'm from Maine, I'm about mid state.
After my husband retired from the service, we moved here and started our homestead. I still work, I run a produce department.
We've been here about 5 years, and have had chickens and turkeys from the start. We started off with RIR and BBB's. We now have expanded to a number of different breeds. We took some major losses this year, but our local fox eat well. We had done some incubating in the past, but wish to do more along those lines (we are tired of having to keep purchasing birds)
We also have pigs. We have done goats and sheep, and might do them again.
We do the garden thing, have planted an orchard, do canning, etc.
Hubby is building our house (and 5 years later, I still live in a construction site
) hopefully this year we will have the garage and porch built.
