I am SO happy to have found this forum. I have been living in middle Tennesse for 4 years now. We are originally from South Florida. We left city life behind and moved to a house on 5.5 acres in the country. I have wanted to raise my own chickens for a couple of years now and my husband finally agreed. We have a small coop (we bought a pre-fab one) and just bought a 2nd small prefab coop. We have a 10x10 fenced area where our hens will be able to hang out freely during the day....AND we have 7 day old chicks on order from a hatchery and will hopefully have our new babies on June 1st. I have learned so much already from this forum. I think I even have almost everything purchased already for the chicks when they arrive!

P.S.: We ordered 2 Golden Buffs, 1 Delaware, 1 Welsummer, 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte, 1 Ameracuana and 1 Barred Rock. And my family consists of me (Miriam), my husband, our 3 beautiful children and 3 wonderful dogs....
