Hi all,

My name is Missy and I'm from NH. My husband and I will be getting chicks in the spring and be first time chicken parents. I will be reading, reading, reading there is so much to know!! I live in the city but the outskirts and I'm allowed 6 chickens, no roosters. I have a plan in place already where to get them and the breeds I want. I look forward to learning from all of you.

Good morning, Missy, and welcome to BYC. Click on The Learning Center located at the top of the page, check out the forums, question away and plan - you will then be set to establish your flock.

Hi Missy, @sourland is correct, be sure to check out the helpful articles in the Learning Center. Chatting with other members in your state thread could be helpful too, so type New Hampshire state thread in the search box and you should be able to find them.

Good luck to you, thanks for joining us!

Welcome!

Wow, I envy you your patience, I am not sure I could wait.

I hope you enjoy BYC; not only is it overflowing with lots of useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures about chickens, turkeys, duck, quail, Peas and pretty much any other feathered and non feathered friends
