Just wanted to introduce myself to the group as I am very egg-cited to learn new things. My daughter, who is 7, has raised the 52 chickens that reside here since they were 1 day old. Each chicken has their own name, are trained to come to her and are the most spoiled chickens I have ever heard of! They even get a bedtime story told to them every night! 49 of these chickens are hens, 3 roosters (were supposed to be hens). These foul will never be eaten, but have a long, happy life. Yes, we eat chicken, but not her babies! I will be posting soon with lots of questions as I was not brought up on a farm and chickens are not what I raise (I raise alpacas!). So, many questions with many, many eggs!
