Well so far the first night has gone okay. Husband and the kids went to a movie so I made sure all the girls made it up to the coop okay. We have 6 acres here fenced so they can roam a bit. I ended up carrying all of them into the coop tonight and putting them on the roost ... a few were huddled up laying next to the barn and a few were trying to roost in the tree that was sitting next to the cage they were brought in......and they all are safe and in bed now ;) Picked up some layers crumble and some pine shavings tonight to line the nesting boxes.

Thanks for the warm welcome!! I've been perusing for a few weeks since we got "Cool" (the chicken my son brought home), and now that we've increased our flock I'm sure I'll have some more questions. Tomorrow I have the day off from work so I'll be getting to know them a little better, giving them some treats to butter them up ;)

Hope everyone had a good evening, it's an awful chilly one here in Ohio!
