Well so far the first night has gone okay. Husband and the kids went to a movie so I made sure all the girls made it up to the coop okay. We have 6 acres here fenced so they can roam a bit. I ended up carrying all of them into the coop tonight and putting them on the roost ... a few were huddled up laying next to the barn and a few were trying to roost in the tree that was sitting next to the cage they were brought in......and they all are safe and in bed now 
Picked up some layers crumble and some pine shavings tonight to line the nesting boxes.
Thanks for the warm welcome!! I've been perusing for a few weeks since we got "Cool" (the chicken my son brought home), and now that we've increased our flock I'm sure I'll have some more questions. Tomorrow I have the day off from work so I'll be getting to know them a little better, giving them some treats to butter them up
