I’m happy to be a part of this community:) I’m still learning to navigate this site, so perhaps this is not the place for this topic. If not, my apologies. However, I am presently searching for one extra hen for our small flock. We currently only have one hen and one rooster and they are around 4 yrs old. They are beloved, well cared for backyard pets inside the beltline in Raleigh, NC.
Thanks!

Hi! :frow Welcome to BYC! You'll love this place. Lots of knowledge and great stories to read. I take it your hen never went broody or you would have allowed the happy couple to hatch the new addition. You can search your state in forums. There may be another way, but I have never explored the site that deeply. Good luck!

Thank you! I’m not feeling very picky about what type... I’d just like a healthy one who isn’t too young and would fit in well with my 4 year olds. It would be great if she’s still a laying hen. I had a red sexlink before and she succumbed to water belly. I heard that sexlinks often get this(?) I still have a lot to learn about chickens but I’m constantly trying to educate myself. At any rate, I guess I’m not focused on one particular kind. I think Buff Orpingtons are pretty and also Easter eggers. But again, not too picky. I just want my hen to have another female friend:)
