Hello Everyone, as my name gives away, I live in Rhode Island, and we just ordered 6 white silkie batams which are shipping on April 30th. So I have lots to do until them as I'm sure time will fly. I *think I have decided on a coop and trying to figure out the run. We live in a residential area so I do have some restrictions. We happen to be photographers so I will have plenty of pics along the way.

So i'm sure lots of questions ahead, but excited about what seems to be a great resource!

Welcome. We will get chicks this spring and are studying coops we see on this site. So many choices!
 
i am amazed at all of the stuff you can get chickens, i think just tonite I nailed down the coop and the run design, I am buying the coop assembled and then going to be building the run, i try to not do the math of the money spent protecting the chickens as i think i could replace about 500 of them for what I am spending to keep 6 safe
