Hi! I'm a new member and new to everything related to quails (I can't have chickens in my neighborhood). After my son inherited a quail, I got excited by the whole process and am going to hopefully have 2 or 3 quail of my own at my house.
Together we put in an order for a dozen eggs that will be available for pick up at the beginning of February. We need an incubator. I'll be posting a question shortly about the best incubator for backyard beginners. And finally I'm getting to build a coop!!
I have been reading so many posts on your site. They've been amazingly helpful. I look forward to spending a lot more time gleaning information from everyone with a knowledge of quails. Maybe someday I'll be able to offer advice!
Thank you!

Welcome to BYC! I'm from Northern California, but I'm pretty sure that there's a Southern California State Thread somewhere... maybe someone else can send you the list; I'm pretty new to BackYard Chickens, too. This website is very informative (I'm currently doing research for chickens) and has an excellent community. Welcome to the flock!
(Yeah it's cheesy, I know, but I wanted to say it...)

If you have no luck with the search, try this link: Find Your State Thread

BYC also has a Quail Forum

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your Quail, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
