in reply to your question ms Frizzle, yes i probably will get some fertile eggs for my broodies to hatch. so far ive had 2 broodies (both BOs). none of the 'lorps have gone broody yet though

Are you thinking of trying different breeds, or getting a rooster (if you don't already) and breeding your own? What other breeds interest you?

yes, i would love to try some different breeds. and yes, i would like to get a rooster sometime (currently i'm on the lookout for a good one thats not agressive). might try some silkies but am wary of how they would fit in with our current flock. other breeds i like are brahmas & american games (especially the roos)
