Hello everyone. I have been lurking on the board for a couple of weeks now and decided to join. I love all the pics of the coops and sweet feathery babies. I have finally talked my husband into letting me build a coop and get some chickens, with the help of our 3 very persistent little girls. I am hoping to get started on my coop soon, but we have two bird dogs that have to be moved to their own side of the yard before I will be able to get any chicks.

I swear I can hardly stand the wait.

Welcome, from a fellow Texan!

Now imagine if you bought hatching eggs instead, and had to wait 21 more days. . . Waiting, waiting for those little'uns to hatch.

That would be brutal!! Thanks so much for the warm welcomes everyone. We do know that we (I mean me LOL) want bantams especially cochins and frizzles and some silkies as well. We live in a very small town and we only have one neighbor and we are not required to have to do any thing to notify the city of our chickens or get our coop approved. So we are going to go as big as we can get in our yard.
