@drumstick diva I know all about Dachshund drive to kill critters. They were actually bred to go down in badger holes and pull them out. Have you seen the teeth on a badger? That's why their front paws are so much bigger than the back ones and their noses are mostly cartilage and have almost no nerves. This is my little sausage link. I know if I ever gave him the chance, my little chickies would be a tasty treat.

I have the brooder in a shop in the backyard fenced in with the dogs. It took him a while to give up on getting in. I took this from inside the shop.

What angers me most about the first flock is I know what my dogs are capable of and I keep them fenced. Why can't the neighbor's do the same? I'm pretty sure it was a Jack Russel that's been running the neighborhood with a lab. Problem is, I have no idea who they belong to.
