Hello! We managed to hatch two Icelandic eggs in the incubator, and then supplemented our first flock with some Cinnamon Queens and Cuckoo Marans from Coastal Farm & Ranch.

I built a luxury coop in the backyard for the birds once their feathers come in, but for now they're in two groups. The Queens are a few weeks old, so they're in a brooder box in the garden shed, with plenty of heat and room to stretch out. The smaller birds (the icies and the marans) are in the bathtub. Both groups have plenty of pine shavings, water with electrolytes and probiotics, and an infrared heater that they can huddle beneath.

This is our first attempt at chickens, so we've been reading a lot, but it's time for hands-on learning. I plan on checking this site frequently.
