My name is DeDra and I live in the Texas Panhandle with my wonderful husband Casey.
We have 6 fur babies, 2 dogs and 4 cats.
Our chicken journey began in February when my class did a hatching project.
21 days later 2 of our 4 eggs hatched successfully. My students got to make them a brooder and observe them for a week then they came home with me with 2 more chicks from another teacher.
As time went by it became clear that the 2 chicks I got from the other teacher were roos. As sweet as the boys were they need a different home, so I found them a wonderful new home.
We were left with our 2 ladies Buttercup and Chicken Hawk, but after reading on the site we decided that 2 were not enough.

At the beginning of June we got 5 new chicks to add to the flock.
So excited to be part of the BYC community!
