Hi,
New here but we have had chickens for the last 18 years. We do live in the country surrounded by corn fields. All of our previous neighbors enjoyed our chickens as much as we have. Unfortunately, our newest neighbor doesn't. We are zoned residential but we live in an agricultural district. She turned us in to the code enforcer last August and we have been proceeding through the legal process of keeping our chickens since then. We are now applying for a variance to keep the chickens.
I'm looking for any help writing a variance. I plan on setting up a FB page for saving the chickens, a petition, letters to the editor once the variance is published in the local paper.
We have enjoyed living in the country.........she always wanted to live in the country......she has complained about our chickens, complained to the farmer about his spreading manure and the dust he kicks up.
I'm really glad I found this place.
Dante and His Inferno Red Hens are glad we found this place.
Thanks
Jackie
