New Member From VA

I've been looking at the site for a couple years now. I recently moved from the city back into a more rural county in eastern VA and am about to build a coop and raise a dozen layers. I've had two flocks in the last 3-4 years of mixed breeds (1 Welsummer, 3 RIR's, 3 Americaunas, and 6 Barred Rocks). My second flock (6 BR's and 1 Americauna) stayed with our last house and the new owner loves getting the 4-5 fresh eggs every day. So my wife and son are very excited about putting in a 8x12 coop for our new flock this fall. I work for a local site contractor and am pretty handy with carpentry and love the country living lifestyle we have. I love looking at all the great information on this site and hope to contribute a little to the wealth of knowledge that's already here.

Thanks all for the welcome. I'll post some pics of the coop build once i get to it in a couple weeks over in the coop section. I'll definitely check out the Virginia thread once i get through the 30 other tabs i have open from other idea LOL
