Hi, I "think" I might have talked hubby into letting us get chickens! We have old quail pen/playhouse/toy box in the yard and I'm hoping we can convert it into a chicken coop. My SIL gave us two Quail (Bob & Marilyn) about 10 yrs ago and they only lasted about a year before they were "worried" by what we think were raccoons.
If we lock them in the little house at night, do you think this will work?

Any Wa State chicken peeps here?

Thank you for the welcome, garden! I love your little coop, so cute! Your dd is quite the artist!
I have a 13yr old girl who lives and breathes art too, she'll get a kick out of the painted chickens!

I'm going to run out and take a pix of the inside of the little building so I can get advice about that too.

Kids love help decorating! Post the inside and more playhouse pictures in the Coop construction area of the forum. You'll get lots of good advice on decorating and adapting the building. Take pictures as you go also, and you can enter it in one of the coop building contests to get it in the coop pages here at BYC.

There are lots of Washington State BYcers out there. Check out this thread and say "hi" there, too.
