Hello everyone. I just got my first few chickens last year. It was my dream to own some and we were able to make it happen. We started out with 6. I got them mostly just to raise them and love them but the eggs are a bonus for our friends and family. We got them at our local tractor supply and the types and colors were misleading but that was ok with me. I tried to get different colors but ended up with two reddish ones. I can tell the difference but other people have troubles lol. According to the tractor supply labels we got a production red. Rhode Island Red. Olive egger. Leghorn. Barred rock and a bantam. And although I’m pretty sure some of mine may have been mislabeled I think I know what types they are but anyone can feel free to share what they think. Our Batam was unsexed and we needed up with an little mr attitude rooster but he definitely protects his girls. We plan to get some more this spring and have a bigger flock.
