new member greetings

Welcome to Backyard chickens. Could be the start of wry neck but, without any other details it could be anything. Hopefully the ER folks will get to your post fast.

I hope there's nothing seriously wrong with your chick.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! I have experienced wry neck before and your chick tucking its head under its body does sound like it. Could you describe a little more what it's symptoms are? If it's not managing to eat and drink you will have to hand feed it and make sure it gets water they can become dehydrated very quickly. Keeping it seperate and quiet helps too. Wry neck could be caused by several things. Head injury especially polish or silkies that have a vaulted skull. Vitamin deficiency in the chick itself or the parent birds if the chick. Or it could be hereditary. What breed is your chick? Starting on some polyvisol (non iron) can help too. Here is a thread on wry neck https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/97121/lets-talk-wry-neck-crook-neck

Good luck with your chick :fl
