new member hatching ducklings and chicks

Hi my name is angel I am new to BYC. I have been looking over this site the past few days bc I have just started incubating ducklings (pekin) and chicks (buff orphington). Unfortunately I put the ducklings and chicks in at the same time but I am planning on moving the chicks to a different incubator during lockdown. Right now I have them all in the little giant 9300. I was wondering if There's any advice anyone can give me as being a new hatcher. Also should I mist the duck eggs while they are in with the chick eggs or no? If so when should I start misting?. Another question I have is should the temp be lowered after the chicks hatch or no? Please not negative comments. I'm sure I have more questions but I'll leave it to that for now.

Hello and Welcome To BYC! You might want to post in the Duck forum about your duck eggs. www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks Not sure if you have seen it, but there is a nice article on the Learning Center on hatching in general https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/hatching-eggs-101 Some people drop the incubation temp 1or2* at hatch, but you don't have to.

Posting on the duck thread at "Other Backyard Poultry," is a very good idea. They should probably be in a separate brooder or a divided one once they hatch. Ducks love to splash and be wet and are very talented at covering everything with poo. Chicks need to be dry and are pretty ordinary in poop skills.

Thanks.I calaberiated (however you spell it) my thermometer. And it read 37.5 when I did the ice test. So that means it's 5° off so if I calculated right and I should have by incubator set at 99.5 then I should really set it at 104.5 since my Therm. Is 5° off RIGHT? This is my first time hatching babies. I just don't want to set it wrong and them die.

ust picked up some chick starter/grower for my ducklings. Now at tsc they have this.liquid b-12 stuff. Is that what I would add to the chick starter or what exactly do I add for the extra niacin?
