Hello all, I'm looking for a gentleman in NH that takes older hens to live on. I think they've shut down and are causing the younger ones to stop laying. If anyone can help us appreciate it.

Do post in your state thread as already mentioned.
Also I don't think older hens that aren't laying would cause younger ones that are laying to stop.

It's molting season. If the younger ones are over a year old then they are just molting, along with the shortened days, and that is why production is down.

The shorter days always cause lower production. Come spring, they will pick up again.
