Which of your layers do you enjoy the most? I'm thinking of replenishing my flock and sending my older girls to a retirement coop at my Parents farm. My personal favorites at my house are the Easter Eggers and I am always paying the earthworm tax to my Australorp, Queen Emerald. I also love my sister's speckled Sussex hen, she is such a little sidekick.

I am in my second year of gardening. We just bought out property last April and we were a little late with planting so this year was rough. I am working on the garden for next spring now. I had tomatoes, potatoes, peppers and some zucchini. I am doing some planning now for next season, the forums will be great. I will be sure to check those out, thank you. I love my Orpingtons. I started with two cream colored Orpingtons and I named them Peaches and Cream. I absolutely loved Peaches. She would follow me everywhere. We were very close. Unfortunately, she was gotten by a predator. 😢 I still have cream and she is a sweetie as well. I absolutely enjoy all of my ladies.

I'm sorry to hear about Peaches 😔
It's so hard when a special hen gets taken by a predator.
I have a buff Orpington named Chica, she's my 3 year old daughter's chicken. She's so good with kids. She's a brat with the other chickens though. 🤣

The best part of raising backyard chickens is they are so great to watch, very entertaining. The fresh eggs are an amazing bonus.
My other hobbies: Gardening, Reading up on new skills, cooking
We also have 5 cats that are so fun to have out with our chicks. I homeschool my 13 year old son Dominick. I also have a 7 year old son Logan and 3 older boys that have flown this mama's coop. We live on a 5 acre homestead.
