Hello all, my wife and I live in Bennington VT and starting our new flock this March. We are very excited and living in downtown, we hope all will go well. We have been searching fo 3 Orpingtons and 3 Barred Rock pullets. We are very picky about getting very good hens for eggs. We are both EMT's and are concerned of some of the places we have seen raising chickens, so we are having a hard time finding our birds but we will. We have a good size family and 8 grandchildren that also are looking forward to us having chickens. If anyone know of very good sellers of pullets, near Bennington VT, sure could use the help. Anyway, glad to be part of this family!!

Howdy from Florida an welcome to BYC!!! Sure glad to have you part of our flock! My advice to you an your wife is to build a walk in coop ( if you have the space) because with all the grandchildren it would be much easier to just walk in an show them the chicks while in side the coop rather than try an show them from the outside ;)

Thanks for all the thanks! I have noticed that Tractor Supply does offer chick of all kinds but I am not sure that I am able to do chick just yet. Have been reading a lot about raising chickens, not ready for chicks maybe next year.
