This is normal as they associate your voice as mother hen, I have a fleece lined pouch I sewed together which I put the chick's in at night under a heat lamp in the dark. They settle really well. I find when you have individual chick's it's more challenging as they like company. So if you can get another chick that'd be ideal. In the day I find as long as you are near and they hear your voice great but otherwise keeping them with you on your heat is also OK. I wouldn't have them in your bed at night. Unfortunately you cannot control where you sleep and I've suffocated chick's before when I was younger so wouldn't recommend it due to the risk. Hope this helps!Hi I have also raised bantams! But I have never encountered this problem before. I have a one day old baby bantam that will not stay under the heat lamp and it keeps crying until I pick it up and hold it in my hand, then it falls asleep lol. Does the baby need the heat lamp or can it just sleep in the bed with me at night and in my little fuzzy blanket during the day. I raised other babies about 18 days old sleeping in my arms at night and they did fine. But this tiny one I now have I want it to be safe .. so can you please tell me the light or my body heat lol
