Hi,

I'm Damien and I'm new on the chicken scene. I've lurked around on the forums since diving into caring for chickens back in May of this year. I must admit I've learned a lot in the first 8 months. So far there's been some challenges, like the battle over a whole row of my broccoli plants (I lost), and some great times such as watching chickens eat yogurt. All in all I'd never give them up. I love the quirks, and the great breakfast everyday. Anyway, I hope to add to the community here as much as I can, I've done a lot of studying on this and other self sustainability topics, and I'm always in search of more and better info. It looks like everyone here has a lot of fun and there are some great experiences to be shared..

Thanks

from middle Tn! Yeah, chickens are great entertainment...i.e. 'chicken tv'. I worked my rear off building a new rock walled flower bed back in the spring, planted hostas, begonias, ferns, thrift, monkey grass, daffodils, and zinnias. The chickens ate the begonias down to the ground in about 0.2 seconds. What they didn't eat, they dug up dust bathing.

I am going to start over in the next week or two and put wire over the flower bed after planting...no begonias this time!
