My name is Kassandra. I’ve had chickens for about 2 years now. I live in a VERY rural part of NY in the Finger Lakes.

I have 7 hens and a rooster. I started out with 12 chicks. One died within a week. And four have been taken by predators as adults. They love free ranging. So I recently got a rooster so he can warn the girls of any predators. He’s been doing a great job and haven’t lost any this year. I have Gold Laced Wyandottes, Black Australorps and a barnyard mix rooster, who is a sweetheart.

I currently have 12 chicks in a brooder. The breeds are:
Barred Rocks
Blue Laced Gold Wyandottes
Blue Jersey Giant
Calico Princess
Easter Eggers
Americanas
ISA Brown
Mystic Onyx
White Leghorns

I’m currently working on a bigger run for them so that I can walk into it. My current run is about 4 feet high, and 16x16. My coop is big enough for them.

Looking forward to meeting you all!

:frow hi and welcome! Where did you get the Americana eggs? If the source spelled them that way then they are probably also Easter Eggers. The true Ameraucana birds are spelled the way I just did,; spelled any other way they are ... not purebred, sorry. But Easter Eggers are great birds, I always have them in my flock! They're a mixed breed and won't breed true. True Ameraucanas are also priced way higher than EEs sold as Ameracanas, Americanas, etc. You may know all this already; if so I apologize for the lecture.
