Hello everyone. My daughter and I have gotten the bug to raise chickens. Our goal is to convert an existing 8x12 barn style shed into a coop and make a large run for them. Our plan is to let them free range our acre property if possible,but we will have to play it by ear to see if that works out. I've been lurking on the site for a few days and have learned a few things already,the first being my goal of having 25 chickens will probably be too many for our coop. I look forward to learning a lot more and sharing stories and ideas with everyone.
! Great to have you aboard! Actually, and 8 x 12 is probably okay, particularly since you plan to free range. You'll be at 96 sq. ft and the recommended minimum size for 25 birds is 100 s. ft. so.... Anyway, best of luck in your poultry endeavor!!
