Thank you for your kind words.. their run is about 10‘ x 15‘ but I would usually let them run around outside of it for about an hour to get worms and stuff. I’ll look into seeing if I can find another hen for her. Or, I may need to rehome her to a home that has chickens. I’m a little lost as this just happened a little bit ago.oh no I am so sorry that's heartbreaking for sure.

My best advice would be if possible to get more chickens or rehome the last remaining chicken so she will have a better life with friends.

Always traumatic to lose them, especially to predators. I'd keep the other one close, spend lots of time with her. She will be scared and no doubt mourn for her sister. Put a large mirror in the coop so she doesn't feel alone. During the day leave a radio on playing quiet music, it will help keep her calm. A ticking clock 24/7 will relax birds and put them at ease. This hawk will be back so don't let her free range alone for a while. I hope you can find her a friend soon. Hello and welcome to BYC!
