Just remember that you cannot give them avacado, nightshade plant greens (think tomato leaves, eggplant leaves, potato greens). Welcome!Hello Everyone, I am so excited to be here. Though I grew up with chickens when I was very young and my parents have chickens now, this is the first time I have had chickens of my own. I have 5 hens which are Americanas. I just got them at the beginning of February and they are settling nicely in their coop now.
I am not certain of my favorite aspect of raising chickens - other than the eggs - as I haven't had them very long and am still finding my feet. One of the reasons that I wanted chickens, besides the eggs, I have a small garden and wanted to be able to do more than just compost all of the garden scraps.
