Hi folks!
I moved from a cul de sac in Cincinnati suburbia to acreage in somewhat rural GA a little under 2yrs ago. I had wanted chickens for a few years now & we happened to by a property that already had a cute coop that sort of matched the house but needed a new roof & some other work. I am currently in the middle of building a run. I bought 4 BSL chicks from TSC which are now 6wks old, & took on a RIR chick which has turned out to be a roo from a friend who rescued him & nursed his necrotic toes.
I am a recently unemployed graphic artist, having worked on packaging for many years. Now I focus on my chickens, 4 dogs, house, & landscaping. I started a veggie container garden this year & am also reworking the landscaping to grow wildflowers & other “weeds” that chickens like. I am also taking classes online to finish a degree & move into another profession.
I found this site by googling all the many questions I had about chickens (I didn’t even know what I didn’t know) & it has been incredibly helpful!
