hello all! my name is andy (i'm a girl not a boy! hah.)
1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
new chicken mama here — we got our first batch of 5 chicks almost 9 weeks ago...
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
we have 4. we re-homed a crowing cockerel a few days ago.
(3) What breeds do you have?
i need help identifying. i believe 2 ameraucanas and not sure about the black and white pullets...
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
the wonderful interactions my two daughters are having with them! its been great learning to tend daily to others and learning a whole other way of life!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
i'm a maker (graphic design, crochet, writing), we love to camp in our travel trailer and always ready to tackle the next home project!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
my husband is a fire captain, we are a homeschooling family — learning to engage the world with open eyes and hands!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
being a new chicken owner, i have so many questions! i came here particularly to get some insight on a crowing pullet, whom i'm hoping is not a rooster! i'll post about that shortly.
