I'm here to introduce myself. I feel as if I have found my people, chicken people. 
I'm so glad to be here and to learn from everyone's experiences.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I've had a flock for about 3 years now.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Roughly 8 laying hens with about 25 chicks I'm raising.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Rhode Island Reds, Silkies, Marans and some I haven't identified.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love the bond you get and the satisfaction of raising healthy chickens. My favorite time of the day is when they run to you like they haven't seen you in years (but really it was just yesterday).
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love the outdoors. Some of my hobbies are fishing, hunting, kayaking and raising my son.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm 2 years married with an almost 7 month old son.
We live on a farm with about 100 head of cattle in Texas. We bale hay in the summer.
I work at a bank as a deposit manager.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Anytime I had a sick chick or hen I would run to the internet. Every search I would end up on a thread/forum from BYC so I figured I might as well join this awesome community. I'm so eager to learn more about chickens and to make my block better.
